There are two teams in particular that are very difficult to predict when they are down and out – Pakistan is one and the West Indies are the other. $1.20 is a bit short about the West Indies because you just never know with these guys. I think the pitch is likely to suit the West Indians more than Bangladesh but the KFC’s find it difficult to motivate themselves for big games sometimes, let alone dead rubbers. Bangladesh have all the motivation they need – any game playing against Test opposition is a big game for them as they strive to prove that they belong in the elite. There is a chance that West Indies may blood a couple of youngsters, maybe give Simmons a bat a little higher than number 8 and give Kieran Pollard another run, with one eye on the future. The ‘Deshis though will play a full strength team and will be desperate to sign off with a win, and lift themselves above Ireland. See if you can get matched at $5.80 on betfair or lay the $1.21.

Saqibul Hasan continues to be underestimated by the TAB so this provides us with another opportunity to back him. With the track likely to be on the fast and bouncy side I think the Bangladeshi top scorer will need a good technique and temperament tonight, and Hasan has both. He is part of the new breed for Bangladesh and he holds no fear, he also has a touch of class about him and the 6/1 is value. I would have him at $6.00-6.50 so we’ll take half a point on him tonight.

Another Bangladesh bat with a solid technique and good temperament is Mushfiqur Rahim. He’s only young but he has already proven himself to have a bit of fight and no little ability with the bat. He may well be promoted up the order from his usual spot at 7 tonight as he could provide the anchor they need on a bouncy pitch. Even if he stays at 7 though I still think 12s is a smidge of value. I’d be 10/1 about him so would suggest ½ point on him to be the hero tonight for Bangladesh.
