Punting Ace Charity Donations

Punting Ace raises funds to donate to charity and various worthy causes primarily two ways.

1. The Lasseters – Punting Ace SMS Challenge
2. The $125,000 Charity Challenge

Distribution of Profits

Note that the current profit combines the profits made through the SMS Challenge along with the $125,000 Charity Challenge. We will maintain a small buffer between current profit and total donated to insure against a losing run.

Hearing Helper
Amount: $850.00

A 12 year old boy suffering from Erb's Palsy (difficulty with movement of his right arm and shoulder), also has central auditory processing difficulties. He has normal hearing levels but has difficulty with the interpretation of auditory information. The main problem being auditory figure background competition. He required a 'Hearing Helper Personal FM System'. The Hearing Helper listening device will enhance listening opportunities by reducing ambient noise therefore helping the childs academic success.

Brought to the attention of Punting Ace by Jackie Stewart of the Lioness Club. Jackie comes into contact with many who encounter hardship through her work for a range of charities.

Smartlink unit
Amount: $455.00

An elderly lady's husband recently passed away. Authorities wouldn't allow her to stay in her home without a personal monitoring unit which she couldn't afford. Punting Ace donated a 'Smartlink' unit to be installed and 12 months of monitoring.

Brought to the attention of Punting Ace by Jackie Stewart of the Lioness Club. Jackie comes into contact with many who encounter hardship through her work for a range of charities.

Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation
Amount: $4,780.65
$4,780.65 was donated to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). Lasseters Sportsbook kindly donated $1,280.65. Punting Ace forum member '789' kindly contributed $500.00 of this amount. JDRF's mission is to find a cure for Type 1 Diabetes and it's complications. For more information and the latest news on research, visit the JDRF website at http://www.jdrf.org.au/

Sunshine Coast Resident
Amount: $938.00
A 70 year old Sunshine Coast resident was randomly shot 20 years ago by a gunman who later took his own life. He was left with paraplegia and has used a wheelchair ever since. After 20 years, he was in desperate need for a new wheelchair which Punting Ace donated.

Kevin and Kristen Mardle
Amount: $1,500.00
Kristen was confined to her house due to her rare condition, dystonia, which has no cure and affects her muscles and nerves. Despite numerous operations she is wheelchair-bound and tube fed three times a day. The pair required $8,000 to purchase a former disabled taxi and hoist. Kevin has looked after his wife for 20 years and can no longer lift her in and out of a car due to back, shoulder and other injuries. The funds were raised with the help of Punting Ace, enabling the couple to purchase the taxi so Kevin can take Kristen on outings.

On the 27th of August 2007, Punting Ace allocated $50 per unit to bet the Sports SMS selections for a designated ten week period. A profit of $6,454.90 was achieved during that period.
