NBL Round 21

New Zealand v Melbourne

The Breakers will be hoping to build on their 3 game winning streak as they host the Tigers.  The Tigers will be looking to make it a clean sweep on the season series after comfortably defeating the Breakers in Melbourne in rounds 6 and 18.

The Breakers overpowered the South Dragons in Melbourne last Saturday, winning 104-93 (2 days after defeating Perth at home).  Kirk Penney led 4 players in double figures against the Dragons, notching up 28 points.  Tony Ronaldson plays his 600th game in the NBL tonight (only Andrew Gaze has played more).  This achievement along with trying to get themselves on the better side of the logjam for playoff positions should provide the Breakers with plenty of motivation here.

The Tigers defeated the Hawks in Wollongong, 109-98 last Friday (2 days after losing to Brisbane at home).  Chris Anstey (26 points) and Dave Thomas (23 points) were the main contributors against the Hawks.  The Tigers next assignment is a local derby at the Cage against the Dragons this Saturday.

In what I believe will be a tough contest, the Tigers should have too much depth for the Breakers in the end.  The line betting looks about right to me.  The points total also looks to be on the mark.
